The "Blue House" hosts the base leader's office as well as two guest offices with computer terminals and network connections for guest notebooks. It is equipped with a fax, a copier, several telephones and a stationary radio receiver for the field operations.

A 'field information board' is set up, for teams surveys on the field. The Blue House is the radio-headquarter of the base. Concerning science, some of the continuous measurements are controlled from within the Blue House.

The Blue House offers accomodation for 8 people in four double rooms. A spacious and well-equipped living room with Video/DVD monitor and a HiFi-set helps in recreation after the work. A laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer can be used by all station guests.

Additionally, the Blue House is equipped with a warm storage (60sq. meter) room for outdoor- and technical equipment and some polar clothing. The Blue House also stores weapons in a safe.
