Office work needs computers, printers, and communication systems.
AWIPEV Base provide some equipment for scientists. There is access to internet and to printers by a local network. Since beginning 2006, a fast line at 34 mbits/second is installed in the village
Printers, fax, phones, scanners, zip and USB connections are provided.
All guests are encouraged to bring their own laptops, which can be plugged to the local network by ethernet connectors. Guest computers to be connected have to be virus-tested before being connected.
Wireless communication is not allowed in Ny-Aalesund, due to "Radio-quietness" requirements by several research installations.
One meeting room (<10 persons) with videoconference system is available.
5 guests offices can be also available.
