Sea trips


Access to fjord trips equipment inventory.

AWIPEV organizes trips in and out of the fjords so that to reach the experimentation sites.

An equipment package for safety, communication, motor maintenance is provided with each boat:
  • Rubber boats (ZODIAC MK2, MK3, MK1)
  • Plastic boats
  • Aluminium boats.
The users must have a licence driver or been trained during half day by competent AWIPEV personnel. In this case a rubber boat can be use freely in the delimited part of the Kongsfjord (see AWIPEV station rules).

Survival suits are also provided.

Maintenance is done by AWIPEV Base at the mechanics workshop, a mechanician checks each year all the logistics marine pool.

Some diving equipment is also available. This activity is under control of officials rules.

Rubber boats are commonly used for transportations in and out of the fjord (length from 3.7 to 4.2 m, from 9.9 to 30 horse power, autolub, 2 and 4 strokes).
Buster L (aluminium boat, with 50 HP) is also used.
DFK semi rigid boat, especially useful for diving activities.
