The field operations for this year 2005 have a routine part (Observatories), that is described here. The base permanent staff (base leader and the technician) are running the instruments, and during the year, scientists from AWI are coming to check and calibrates their instruments.

The other part concerns the annual projects, scientists team are coming for a while (from 7 to 60 days) for their experimentation (planning). they are also supported on the field by the permanent staff and also by temporary staff.

This AWIPEV staff will take in charge the logistic part of the programme, so that to optimize the scientific work on the field. Regulations and safety procedures must be strictly followed as soon as people is coming on the base, under the control of the Base Leader. In particular, AWIPEV Base offers services for : Hosting, Infrastructure management, marine and terrestrial logistics, safety, Kingsbay and Norsk Polar Institute relations, parcels transportation.
