Each year, AWIPEV Base proceeds to the annual recruitment of its team (one Station leader (AWI contract), one Observatory Engineer (AWI contract), one Logistics Engineer (IPEV contract under VIE Status)).

Main logistic event in 2007
A Remote Operated Vehicle is scheduled to be in Ny-Ålesund for 20 days in late August/Beginning September, for scientific and technical purposes.
Main logistic event in 2006
A new position is added this year to the AWIPEV Base permanent staff. Cedric Couret, French engineer in chemistry, has joined the team on the first of April. He'll stay for one full year. He'll be in charge mainly of the field logistics, parcels shipment and routine measurements of scientific programmes.
- Due to the increase of our activities, AWIPEV rents from Kingsbay, since April 2006 a 100 square meters storage place in Ny-Ålesund. This 'Boat
garage' will be used as the main storage place for heavy and not warmed equipment.
- A new 4 strokes snowscooter has been bought this year.
A fast Internet connection (34 mb/second) is installed since the beginning of 2006.
3 brand new office computers are installed at Rabot Station
The first scientific workshop was held in Strasbourg, on 2 - 3 March 2005.
